Tue Apr 17th – Meet the Golden Road Brewing Night at FAR BAR – Presenting El Hefe Anejo
Some months ago our friends over at Golden Road Brewing purchased a few used Tequila barrels from south of the border. They decided to take they’re flagship Golden Road Hefeweizen and age it for four months or so in those very barrels. We here at Far Bar had been anticipating the final product for some time from conception to visiting the brewery and getting to smell the aromas from these barrels mid-stage to now where we’ll tap one of the few kegs yielded from these barrels to sit back and enjoy with all of you “El Hefe Anejo”.
On tap this night:

Get Up Offa That Brown
Either Side of the Hill (American Strong Ale)
Schwartz Stout (Dry Irish Stout)

Event starts at 4pm and continues all night long.
Mon Apr 9th – Deschutes LA Base Beer Camp at FAR BAR
Deschutes will also be holding a Scavenger Hunt for those that would like to join and the Woody will be in the house!
Come join us starting at 5:30pm as we are the first stop on Deschutes LA Base Camp tour. Members from the Deschutes brewery will be in the house for a short beer education and we’ll have some goodies on tap for you including:

Deschutes Brewery Scavenger Hunt
No one will deny it: scavenger hunts equal good times! Couple a scavenger hunt with some damn tasty beer from Deschutes Brewery and you have pure fabulousness. Join us and start the hunt at Far Bar – we’ll give you a list of several things you need to find and take a photo of with your smart phone. Send the photos to Deschutes Brewery as you take them – they’ll be judged on correct completion of all tasks, best photo and best team name. So gather your friends and take up the gauntlet to win prize packages from Deschutes Brewery for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. You could even be strutting home with the coveted Golden Growler. Tues Apr 3rd – Meet El Segundo Brewings Final Four of Pale Ales
Starting at 7pm on Tuesday April 3rd, our friends at the from El Segundo Brewing will be in the house and they’ll be pouring four different versions of their Blue House Double-Dry Hopped Pale will be pouring: Citra, Cascade, Nelson, and Simcoe.
Come join us as Rob Croxall (Owner, Brewer) and Tom Kelley (Sales Manager) will be in the house to enjoy and educate everyone on the glory that is the Humulus Lupulus (hop).
Thurs Mar 22nd – Roger Cairns Celebrates 5 Years at FAR BAR
It was March 22, 2007. The owner of FAR BAR was looking to add a jazz band to bring classy live music to the patio. He found Roger Cairns and a great union was formed. The Roger Cairns Jazz Crew has been a long-standing member of the FAR BAR family and we are proud to help them celebrate their 5 year anniversary performing at FAR BAR.

February is BOURBON ON FIRST STREET Month
FAR BAR is fix’in to announce the First Annual Bourbon on 1st Street! During the month of February, the flavors of the Big Easy hits LA as we’ll be featuring da best in everything Bourbon and barrel-aged beers.
Since we be fillin’ our pantry with a bayou of bourbons/ryes for some time, and we all know that ya’ll absolutely love barrel-aged beers and such, we figured why the heck not!
So startin’ February 1st, ya’ll can expect top notch bourbons and ryes as well as some rare and decadent barrel-aged beers all month long! We’ll also be featuring world class stouts and barleywines paired alongside ya’lls favorite bourbon and rye whiskey. And since February is Mardi Gras, we’ll be fix’in to bringin’ Fat City to ya’ll wit delicious Cajun and Creole grub specials and beers on tap! It’s like everyday gonna be Fat Tuesday at FAR BAR.

Tis’ the season to be jolly so please join as we transform our patio(front lounge if it rains) into a Winter wonderland on Saturday, December 10th for A Far Bar Christmas, with a special twist..we’ll be featuring our own resident “Bad” Santa Steve(no sorry, not Billy Bob …but trust us, he’s the next best thing!) and favorites such as Bad Santa, Christmas Vacation, a Christmas Story and others on our giant out door patio screen. “Bad” Santa will be bringing his own unique soundtrack as well as some gifts to share the yuletide joy with everyone! Also, it would only be fitting for us to have a host of festive beer on tap now wouldn’t it!..Winter Warmers and Holiday Ales will be abound.

Thurs Nov 24th – Celebrate Thanksgiving at FAR BAR
FAR BAR will be open on Thursday November 24th on Thanksgiving Day for special hours from 5pm-2am. Come relax and enjoy watching the football game and have food and drinks on the patio.
For those craving a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, FAR BAR will have a special Turkey Dinner Buffet between the hours of 5-8pm with a carving station and all the fixings for only $15 per person.
So, if you are away from the family, alone for the holidays, or rather not deal with cooking, join the FAR BAR family for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner and stuff yourself for only $15.
